S/be List of Jewish American mathematicians. 24.17.48.241 18:42, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Somebody should mention Category:Jewish_mathematicians in the top section of the article (I tried but have syntax problems somehow). Mhym 03:11, 3 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Addition

[edit]

Add John Von Neumann to the list of Jewish American mathematicians

Done; he lived long enough in America to qualify.--Brownlee 17:10, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why do we need this article?

[edit]

Why do we need an article listing American Jewish mathematicians? There is no such 'list' for American Christians, Muslims or even atheists or for American Germans - ironically the linguistic grouping that most of these jews came from. So what is the point, other than to assert how intellectually superior both Americans and in particular American Jews are? (Answers including 'because it is citable' are predictably obfuscating)1812ahill (talk) 04:11, 15 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is jinfo.org a reliable source?

[edit]

In a few of the entries I have added to this list, I have used jinfo.org as a source due to its use of a source for some entries on the list of Jewish mathematicians. However, I have seen that a previous edit to this page, by user:Coffee, removed many of the previously existent entries that were exclusively sourced by jinfo.org, considering it an unreliable source. Should the entries that have been exclusively sourced by jinfo.org be removed on this page and on the list of Jewish mathematicians? Thanks, --H*10^8.5 (talk) 17:40, 5 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
