This list is misleading
[edit]The term Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) only began to exist in 1928. Many of the words in the list have been used in English/other European languages long before that. They are certainly not of 'Indonesian origin'.Ø:G (talk) 21:16, 25 November 2016 (UTC).
'Ketchup' is not from Indonesian
[edit]The word 'ketchup' appears to be from Malay, not from Indonesian. Neither the Wikipedia article on ketchup, nor the Wiktionary article, suggest that the word may be from Indonesian.
I'm therefore removing ketchup from the list, reversing the unexplained revert by User:Ibra Bintang from when I did this before.

- Wikipedia’s List of English words of Malay origin features many of the same words as this article because the languages are similar. Catsup/ketchup could also be on both lists, if credible citations supported it. Morganfitzp (talk) 15:04, 5 October 2023 (UTC)
