I was filling in the blurbs as I reread the books, but someone has "helpfully" filled in many blurbs by plagiarizing the backs of the books. I'll write original blurbs as I get to them, but we may have a flame war. Clayton Emery — Preceding unsigned comment added by Clayton Emery (talkcontribs) 14:04, 21 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm debating removing the entire run of Bantam Book reprints from the sortable list. This was important information 25(!) years ago. Collectors used it in conjunction with PJ Farmer's "bible" to learn the correct order and completeness of the series. Nowadays it's irrelevant since the Bantams are all out of print, Vintage Library has almost finished reprinting the entire run for the second time, and this Wiki page exists to show the chronological order of all stories. If I remove the Bantam run (making a note of #95), that leaves a simpler list of Doc Savage stories with an (artificial) serial number. Any objections? I was adding original blurbs for each book, but someone hashed hell out of this page. The block at the top is unoriginal and riddled with typos. The table is badly broken. Suggest you revert it. Clayton Emery Addendum: Never mind. I'm fixing it by hand. CE— Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.61.216.141 (talk) 21:55, 17 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The list of Doc Savage novels is missing "Escape from Loki" by Philip Jose Farmer, published in August of 1991 by Bantam/Falcon.

That's odd. I wonder how it was dropped? It was in the original list I put together in September 2005. In any case, it's there now. And if anyone is wondering where I got the author/collaboration info... it's based on conversations with various Doc Savage experts, reading Dent's papers, and published information. What was found exactly where and when has been lost to time.. Chuck Welch 00:33, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I could not find the following books on the list: The Magic Island, The Hate Genius, and The Deadly Dwarf. Am I missing something? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.14.170.74 (talk) 20:51, 31 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"Ost" was renamed the "The Magic Island" in the Bantam reprints. [1]

It appears that "Violent Night" was renamed "The Hate Genius" in the Bantam reprints. [2]

"Repel" was renamed "The Deadly Dwarf" in the Bantam reprints. [3] Charles.unix.pro (talk) 00:37, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

|-DO NOT CHANGE THIS LIST FOR ANY REASON! THANK YOU!
Honoring this statement, please note that series 29 and 30 entries in the table are not in the correct order. Humbug26 (talk) 19:13, 16 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Names in parenthesis

[edit]

In the list of novels, some of the characters' names are in parenthesis, but it's not explained why. I assume it's because they only has a small role in the adventure (doing behind the scenes research, etc). Is this correct? Bkatcher (talk) 13:44, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
