[edit]I'm assuming after viewing the above referenced talk page, that this list will not be deleted. However, just in case, I voice a strong KEEP for this particular list. This has been a very useful list for me personally, and I believe it is for many other people as well. - W.W. 02/26/2006
Reorganized & Un-stubbed
[edit]I separated the ministers into their respective denominations and added a category of ministers noted for secular achievments. The list no longer merits the stub. SonPraises 20:02, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Ministers or Preachers?
[edit]Is "preachers" here just a synonym for clergy? One knows that Fred Rogers was ordained, but I, at least, don't think of him as a "preacher" (nor even as a preacher who was primarily known for something else). Camillofan 22:13, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- No, it should be for "star" preachers only. Remove anyone else. Johnbod 04:03, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Christian
[edit]Really this should be renamed to specify "Christian", or widened in scope. Johnbod 04:03, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Jan Huss???
[edit]Jan Huss is called a Catholic theologian in the page, but he was against the core principles of Roman Catholicism. He was, for all intents and purposes, Protestant. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.108.166.184 (talk) 05:15, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Preachers noted for secular achievements section
[edit]This section was removed without discussion and without gaining consensus for the removal. I restored it pending consensus.
- Strong keep: The section is relevant to the topic in that these preachers, while not known primarily as preachers or ministers, are indeed Christian preachers and are relevant to a list of Christian preachers.

- My attempt was to provide some definition to a unnecessarily vaguely defined list. Under the definition of the article before my edits, "List of preachers" could include everyone in Category:Christian clergy, perhaps also everyone in the parent cat Category:Christian religious leaders ... and even the cat Category:Clergy by faith, since the title when I arrived was List of preachers (no specific faith indicated). But, if vague is the goal, then no problem here. Athanasius1 (talk) 19:32, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
