Surely it would make more sense to have a list of British film directors? Currently British film director redirects here, which is a bit ridiculous (and potentially offensive, despite the disclaimer about Scottish, Irish, etc directors who have lived in England). "England" and "English" are not the most ideal or relevant categories or points of reference for a list of directors, since the nationality of English - along with Welsh, Scottish, and many Northern Irish - film directors is British (by contrast, List of English monarchs, say, makes historical sense). This would require reorganisation by someone who knows more about film than I do, though! For the record, I'm English - but I think this page currently risks perpetuating the incorrect (though widespread, especially in the US) usage of the word "English" as a synonym for "British". Update: actually, now I think about it, List of British film directors seems so clearly (and hopefully uncontroversially!) a better article title that I'm going to just go ahead and move it. I'll modify the disclaimer at the top of the page, so the article - though including some non-British directors - will be no less accurate than the current one (and in fact, slightly more accurate since the Scottish, etc, directors now require no explanatory disclaimer), while allowing for future inclusion of film directors from anywhere in the UK.
