Please do not add unnotable artists to these lists. Modernist 22:19, 6 October 2007 (UTC) A lot of artists that "modernists" do not regard as "notable" were, and are, a lot more popular than so called "notable" artists. "Modernist" art is like "modernist" architecture - the universities love it, and the people hate it.94.5.65.206 (talk) 00:32, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Does anyone else think it would be beneficial to split this very long list article into two, say for those born before 1900 and those born after 1900? This has already been done for List of American artists. I would suggest that if the article is split the post-1900 artists are listed alphabetically. Otherwise unless you know someone's year of birth you are unlikely to be able to find them! Sionk (talk) 20:24, 3 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This item viewed on a desktop is alphabetical and (I think) longer. On a smart phone it is chronological and contains more information about the entries. Why are both versions not on both platforms and derived from a common source so that they contain the same names and data? BevRowe (talk) 11:19, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi BevRowe - I don't know what desktop browser and skin, nor what smartphone you are using, but using MS Edge and Vector legacy (2010) on my desktop, it looks identical to IoS on my IPhone - both are chronological and have the same information. It may sound silly, but are you sure you are actually on wiki.riteme.site on both devices? AFAIK some mirror sites, which can look like Wikipedia, do trim the information. Failing that I would ask at WP:VPT - best wishes - Arjayay (talk) 12:35, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
