I don't believe it is appropriate to replace "prostitute" with "sex worker" in this article. Not all sex workers are prostitutes. As for replacing "prostitute" with "full service sex worker" this is being discussed at Talk:Sex work#Prostitute is a slur. Please discuss the issue there. Since this show is loosely based on both non-fiction and fictional characters, it would be interesting to have a table of the characters and an indicator if they were real, historical people or from fiction (e.g. Treasure Island), or just made up for the show.Jawz101 (talk) 15:48, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Prostitute is a slur. There is a wikipedia page for sex worker. It is the phrase sex workers themselves use. It is an accurate term without the stigma of the word prostitute. BlissFollower (talk) 06:49, 4 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a personal opinion. Sex work (and sex worker) are by definition phrases that describe the same thing as prostitution (and prostitute) only without the stigma and slur. That is their definition and function. There is no reason to keep the slur when a better, less stigmatised, word exists. BlissFollower (talk) 07:07, 4 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
