Enemies List?

[edit]

What is the point of a "list of atheist Americans"? Should we also have a list of Muslim Americans; an list of Jewish Americans; and a list of Catholic Americans? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.95.43.249 (talk) 00:37, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Woody Allen

[edit]

The quote given for Woody Allen, "To you, I'm an atheist; to God, I'm the Loyal Opposition", seems to come from the character Sandy Bates that Woody Allen plays in the Stardust Memories, see IMDb's quote page for the movie. As comes from a character Woody Allen plays, it obviously cannot be taken as an assertion about Woody Allen himself. Even baring that, the article for that movie states that Woody Allen said that the movie was not intended to be autobiographical. So, I am removing Woody Allen from this list. Daniel W Posin

[edit]

There is a reference here to Daniel W Posin -- I only see him elsewhere as Daniel Q Posin. Vandalism?

Lovecraft

[edit]

I've added links to the row for Lovecraft, but am agnostic on whether or not he was actually an atheist. It was easier to find debate over the question of his atheism than it was to find any good source for it. His article on this site also claims atheism, but the quote on it is a bit more nuanced than is/ain't. H. P. Lovecraft#Religion Stackguy (talk) 07:57, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
