Criteria for inclusion
[edit]Shouldn't this list be based on objective criteria only (i.e. 100+ appearances), rather than objectionable criteria such as having had considerable success at other clubs (who defines "considerable", and how does that make any player notable for Fiorentina?) or having appeared at the World Cup (again, notability can't be transferred from national team to the club).
I'm for using only 100+ appearances as in other similar articles. --Tanonero (msg) 11:02, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
- I agree, only 100+ should be included. Nehme1499 (talk) 16:53, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- It should certainly be based on some agreed number of appearances. "Considerable success" is complete original research -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 17:10, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
Technically, with this title I think any player with even 1 appearance would qualify. Perhaps a name change would benefit as well. Agree that "considerable success" is not verifiable. 100 games played is a good measure, I would also consider perhaps a certain goal tally meriting inclusion - that may serve as a compromise to satisfy those who want to include 'considerable success'. Perhaps the list can be players who have either 100+ appearances or 20+ goals? RedPatchBoy (talk) 17:18, 21 August 2020 (UTC)- The standard format of many years standing is for the article listing the "top" players to just be called List of {club} players, and then the ones listing players with fewer apps to have it in the title e.g. List of York City F.C. players, List of York City F.C. players (25–99 appearances) and List of York City F.C. players (1–24 appearances) (all FLs) -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 18:20, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
- Was not aware of that precedent already being set. I strikethrough'ed my comment. Thanks for the info User:ChrisTheDude. RedPatchBoy (talk) 18:40, 21 August 2020 (UTC)
