Transcript
[edit]Modifications of transcript of scroll reversed by NeilEvans.. source? Is that needed? That is what it says. The character set used for the ancient text is now known (and is available on wikipedia). It only takes a person with a good memory (or some patience) to look at the letters and substitute english characters for the symbols. There need not be a source cited for this, as there is no written source other than common observation.
- I'm not certain but that may be original research. Add it back and if anyone else thinks it's OR then they may remove it again.--NeilEvans 02:22, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- This is a translation from Ancient/Ori if I remember correctly, right? If so this counts as OR, just because you could get a probable translation in Latin does not make it Latin, this is a fictional universe. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 02:44, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
- Well.. It is not even a translation. You simply substitute letters a-z for the symbols in the text from the episode and you get a sentence of english, without any translation of meaning. The text IS in english but it is as if it is written unsing a Symbol font or something. Look it up if you wish- http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Ancient_(Stargate)
- That page mentions several other such transliterations, none of which are disputed.

Notes
[edit]a notes section exists on every non-stub Stargate SG-1 episode summary page. The information contained typically connects pieces of enformation from one episode to the information in another. For example, food references and specific dialogue are often noteworthy for their bridging of characters, plots, themes, etc. Character absenses are often mentioned as well-without speculation as to why a character was not in the episode, despite say michael shanks (plays daniel jackson) stating in interviews his reasons (information is available through external links if one looks for it) The episode itself verifies that the world SG-1 visits resembles Earth. This is noteworthy as alien worlds are not often shown from space, nor do they when shown resemble Earth. Mwhope 20:27, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Stargate SG-1 Episode Style Sheet
[edit]Episode Style Sheet Following the plot summary, several (optional) sections may follow. These include:
* "Quotes" section * "Trivia" section o Significance, discussing the episode's overall contribution to the Stargate mythology (character developments, shifts of power) o Trivia, adding some interesting facts about the episode that would not be appropriate for the introduction or summary o Controversy, if the episode is particularly divisive among fans or introduces an element that has met with a harsh fan reaction or that violates continuity (this could apply to Sam's boyfriend Pete Shanahan, for example). o This would also be a good place to mention if fans generally loved or hated the episode (use GEOS or Gateworld for this, don't decide yourself!) and why.
This policy applies to other tv shows as well, so please stop deleting trivia or note sections. And if you personally believe information to be trivial, unverifiable, or indiscriminate information then say so and ask the information be removed or integrated into the article if possible. Poorly Written
[edit]The grammer and written components of this article is terrible; spelling misakes (reviel as opposed to reveal), improper use of commas (Tomin seeing this, walks.... as opposed to Tomin, seeing this, walks....). This really needs a massive edit.
- this comment was made shotly after the episode aired and subsequent summaries were first added. as a 'new' article the page obviously needed work, this comment was unnecessary to begin with; and work has been done to correct the grammer, to expand, and clarify. there is little sense in the comment taking up space now 17:21, 30 January 2007 (UTC)
- I agree with last poster, completely useless comment. the spirit of Wikipedia is that if you see something you don't like (spelling, grammar structure, missing info, wrong info, etc.) and you have the knowledge to improve it, you FIX it, not complain about it. otherwise, you can add a tag to the article, (cleanup, stub, npov, and so on).--Edgjerp 12:33, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Quotes Section
[edit]the quotes listed belong at wikiquote, not here, and should be moved there (not simply deleted). A link to the SG-1 episode page at wikiquote should be put into external links. Mwhope 17:12, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Sg1-s10e12-0.jpg
[edit]Image:Sg1-s10e12-0.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
