At that time, Lim was also the puppet of an ambitious local UMNO leader that wanted to unseat Rahim Thamby Chik. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.49.111.249 (talk) 09:10, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

this beneficiary of nepotism who was installed by his fathe lim kit siang as chief minister in penang than a vote from the citizens, lied about local council elections and installed cronies. Also lied about asset declarations. Likely used illegal bugging devices and wire taps against dissenting activists. Check the facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 183.171.175.142 (talk) 16:59, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Excessive Vandalism

[edit]

Because of this article is mainly about a politician from an opposition party in Malaysia, this Wikipedia article is highly prone to vandalism by several believed to be UMNO/Barisan Nasional cybertroopers, the ruling party in Malaysia. Editors had find it a hard time to rectify the article and constant monitoring is required to maintain this page. There are evidence of vandalism in the view history tab at the top right of this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bktung (talkcontribs) 19:27, 3 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Bktung, I'm glad that you are interested in expanding this article. Normally, the more popular an article is, there is more possibility of vandalism. Sometimes, you cannot expect other editors to do the needy for you since they have their own obligations also. Just add this page to your watchlist and then bookmark your watchlist. Then, you should be able to monitor this page easily whenever you are online. Just remember the quote from Albert Einstein, "The world suffers now not because of evil people– but because of good people who have decided to remain silent". Happy editing! Excessive vandalism (2)

[edit]

60.48.212.31, could you stop vandalising the page? It's getting annoying. Please. Epicgenius(talk to mesee my contributions) 12:06, 7 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Political opinion

[edit]

The controversy part that Lim was criticized for not protecting the state historical value was just a opinion by a editor of the newspaper and not a news report. Khoo Salma Nasution did not criticize Lim but merely a comment on the preservation of the heritage in George Town. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dreamtrooper (talkcontribs) 15:52, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't that meet WP:RS though? See in particular WP:NEWSORG. Banedon (talk) 01:17, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Where's the sourcing for "His leadership have [sic] been severely critised for not protecting the state [sic] historical value"? We have sourcing for criticism on particular narrower issues, but not for that wide-ranging statement. Come to mention it, the whole of the "Controversy" section of the article is highly problematic. --Mkativerata (talk) 10:58, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The sourcing comes from the three sources cited? For example the first paragraph of the first source says "Conservationists have warned the Pakatan Rakyat state government that George Town would be a “soulless city” without its intangible heritage", which is clearly criticizing his leadership [since he's leader of the PR government] for not protecting the state's historical value [aka. heritage]. If you're objecting to the word 'severely', that can simply be removed without much impact on the rest of the paragraph. I don't understand you. Banedon (talk) 01:09, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
We should make generalisations like "has been criticised". Stick to the facts: X said Y. --Mkativerata (talk) 09:33, 27 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have refurbished the Controversy section. I need opinions about his law suit. Should I made another page just for him law suit cases? Just like Anwar Ibrahim.Mrpresidentfaris (talk) 07:10, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I wonder why this heritage paragraph were always being removed. How should this paragraph be "tonned down"?Mrpresidentfaris (talk) 13:16, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I found a new article from FreeMalaysiaToday, urging new Penang mayor to protect Georgetown heritage.http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/opinion/2015/04/06/call-to-new-mayor-to-save-penangs-rich-history/-Mrpresidentfaris (talk) 13:11, 8 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Can someone please add the new bungalow purchase please? I don't know how to type it in a way that Wikipedia accepts, as I might be biased. Thank you.Azariq MT (talk) 17:38, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
