explanation

[edit]

I moved this article from "Lilian" to "Lillian". The references I found all referred to her as "Lillian", so I am going to assume the original choice of article name contained a typo. Geo Swan (talk) 05:29, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The correct spelling is Lilian, as far as I am concerned, see e.g. here, the spelling of the Lilian Ngoyi Square near Union Buildings in Pretoria and the majority (though not all) of the other sources. --Vanellus (talk) 14:40, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Here is additional support for the spelling "Lilian": African National Congress Women's League, Rhodes University's Lilian Ngoyi Hall Bobagem, South African History Online, Memorial Unveiled. Note that all links are in the South African .za domain. --(talk) 04:36, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
On the other hand, it's hard to argue with her gravestone. --Bobagem (talk) 04:45, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
