Stained Glass

[edit]

"Stained Glass" is not a single. It has not been sent to radio and Rolling Stone as well and Beer's label Epic Records have confirmed it is a "track" i.e a promotional single.

Track listing

[edit]

Please do not add track listing unless there is a reliable source (not social media) stating it. Adding it without a source will result in a revert. Thanks. DđŸ¶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 19:43, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Add alt-pop to genre

[edit]

User:Doggy54321 What do you think about adding alt-pop to genre? Riff's album review had referred to multiple songs as "alt-pop" aswell as NME, around 25% of the album's songs in total, so it would make sense to add it. A genre doesn't have to apply to a whole album, as a lot of songs aren't going to be referred as R&B but at the same time it's also not just a single or two songs, it's like 4 or even more probably when we get more reviews to look at. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aidenrouhani (talk ‱ contribs)

@Aidenrouhani: First off, if you want to ping someone successfully, you need to use Template:ping/Template:reply to or link to my userpage and sign your post using four tildes (~~~~). As well, could you link to that article here on the talk page so I can review it? Thanks! DđŸ¶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 22:37, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Doggy54321: I'm not good with talk pages haha, I try, but don't use wikipedia that much. Anyways, article from Riff is here: https://riffmagazine.com/album-reviews/madison-beer-life-support/ and NME album review with alt references is here: https://www.nme.com/reviews/album/madison-beer-life-support-review-2888053 Aidenrouhani (talk) 22:42, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Aidenrouhani: Riff says some alternative and classical nuances. That is the only mention of alternative I could find. Nuance means "a subtle distinction" according to Google, so alternative is not a genre of the album. An example of this is at Positions (album), where many critics mentioned trap, but they mentioned it as an influence/subtle, so it wasn’t included as a main genre. The same thing applies here. The album was described as subtly alternative, so, while the genre can be listed as an influence, it shouldn’t be listed as a main genre. As well, I couldn’t find any genres encompassing the whole album in the NME source. DđŸ¶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 22:56, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Doggy54321: Riff actually says “Sour Times” fuses ’90s and modern alt-pop as well as "The synth-heavy “Blue” leans heavier into alt-pop.", and NME says "‘Blue’, a sleek slice of synth-laced alt-pop" this is what i was referring to "alt-pop" as well as the alternative nuance. Let me know what you think!

For the genre to be included, it needs to encompass more than just a few songs. Apple Music describes New Year's Day (Taylor Swift song) as country, but country isn’t listed as a genre at Reputation (Taylor Swift album). Having two out of 17 songs be a genre doesn’t mean the album is that genre. DđŸ¶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 23:22, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop removing Ariana Grande as an influence

[edit]

Everyone, stop removing Ariana Grande as an influence. Madison has said herself that she is and so have critics. Just because you don't believe something doesn't mean you should vandalize, this is a neutral platform. If you'd like to discuss, please do. Aidenrouhani (talk) 05:11, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
