SUGGESTIONS

[edit]

1.) Only the 2010 Lez Zeppelin CD/album track list is listed fully. It might be a good idea to put the 2007 Lez Zeppelin CD/album track list atop that, (in chronological order that way.)

2.) If the band expects fans, then expect fans desiring much more detailed knowledge. Dated length of service for individual band members, present and past, would be a smart addition. IdioT.SavanT.i4 (talk) 05:49, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I removed this:

Lez Zeppelin is currently represented by the management firm of Baxter, Boudreau and Rubin. Exclusive booking is handled by The Agency Group of New York City.[1]

as well as direct quotes from some of the referenced articles because I feel they cause the article to fail WP:ADVERT.

I also removed references to cnn.com and Reuters coverage because I couldn't find any. Radiopathy (talk) 05:31, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

All participants please stop and discuss here what changes you'd like to see. --NeilN talk to me 18:38, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Neil. The band is my project that I began over six years ago. It is an internationally known group represented by one of the top agencies in the world. The contentious user (GirlWizard) is not in any way informed or affiliated with the band and attempting to color events such as personnel changes in a negative light. She/he is also putting in information such as my birth date that I would not like to appear on public record at this time (it is not important; this is not a biographical article about Steph Paynes). Please block GirlWizard from making any more changes at this time. They are purely malicious. Daffodilcubed (talk) 18:58, 18 December 2009 (UTC) --DaffodilcubedN talk to me 18:55, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately we cannot confirm who you are. Dropping a note to OTRS with your specific concerns might help (look at Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Help#Managing_your_biography for more info). Now, do you have any specific concerns with the current version of the article? --NeilN talk to me 19:14, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the unsourced bith date, by the way. --NeilN talk to me 19:17, 18 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
OTRS has received an email (ticket #2009121810045308) from [Redacted Per WP:Out], who is in the band and would appear to be the same person as Daffodilcubed (talk · contribs). So, that part seems confirmed at least. From what I can see, her edits are kosher, and simply involve the removal of unsourced material added by GirlWizard (talk · contribs). There seems to be a lot of to-and-fro going on, but everyone should keep in mind that it's absolutely not ok to be adding unsourced material to this or any other article. Lankiveil (speak to me) 06:14, 19 December 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Neil and Lankiveil: I deeply appreciate your response to this. It's taken me hours to figure out how to follow the proper procedures, so I'm relieved that I was able to contact you and that the issue is now on the radar of the administrators at Wikipedia. I did not author this article, so I've only really been trying to fix the false and inappropriate information as it has come to my attention. However, the article is sorely "spotty" in that it really doesn't reflect an accurate history of the group. I am happy to go in and try to fill it out, if you think that would be appropriate, although I see that information should be properly referenced. As I'm not terribly computer savvy I would appreciate your guidance in how to do this. Also, how to add an updated pic, and other links to press references, online interviews, etc. Mostly, I am hoping that the intruder is warned off this type of vandalism and harassment. Finally, thanks for removing the birth date! I assume if vandalism begins again, I contact you here on this page? Thanks again. I've got this article on my watchlist so I'll keep an eye on it. Before adding anything, you should read our conflict of interest guidelines. It is possible for you to edit this article but please make sure your edits adhere to a neutral point of view and are properly sourced. Essentially, keep in mind we are writing an encyclopedic article. To upload a pic you can go here for instructions (but be aware that you'll be releasing the pictures into the public domain). If you have any questions about contributing to the article, you can ask them here. If you have any other questions, you can ask me on my talk page or at the help desk. --NeilN talk to me 17:22, 19 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Neil. I'll check out the guidelines and perhaps if I am able, try to add things that might be relevant and neutral. Thanks for keeping an eye out! Much appreciated. Daffodilcubed (talk) 17:52, 19 December 2009 (UTC) DaffodilcubedN]] talk to me]] 12:48, 19 December 2009 [reply]

Neil, I see that apparently someone has been at it again and sneaking in sentences like "the best known members left the band," under the pic (which should be changed -- I will try when I get around to it; I'm swamped!), and the birthday, etc. I'm going to make a few minor edits now, tho I see that you are keeping an eye on it and undoing things here and there. The user is different now -- "friendofthebirg." Is this "sockpuppeting?" when the same person just assumes other aliases to mess with the edits? Anyway, I propose that if this doesn't stop, I will help get the page to a point where it is agreed that the material is neutral and referenced and then perhaps you consider blocking the page so that only an administrator can make proposed changes. Let me know your thoughts when you have a chance. Thanks again. Yes, this is sockpuppetting. If it keeps up we can request semi-protection where only established editors can edit the article. Full protection (where only admins can edit) is only done when two groups of editors are edit-warring and the full protection is never permanent. --NeilN talk to me 19:32, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Neil, just to let you know (I left this message on Talk page), I made a few minor changes. I removed "best known members" phrase from under the pic as it is not necessary to describe pic and is somewhat malicious and also not necessarily true! And, I removed three names from Former Member list: Rebecca Havilland (paid singer who did two private party gigs); PJ Whitehouse (another temp singer); Chip English (never in the band at all, but only a few preliminary auditions). I forgot to put these edits in the description form when I made the changes so I am explaining them here. Daffodilcubed (talk) 17:42, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Picture

[edit]

Hi Neil: I uploaded a current picture of Lez Zeppelin to Wikipedia Commons, but despite my attempts and putting in codes, etc., I can't seem to figure out how to get it onto the article page. I thought it would just solve a lot of problems if a current pic with the current members was displayed with the article. It's a good place to start anyway. Can you help instruct how I can get it onto the page? Thanks very much. Hope you are having a good holiday. Daffodilcubed (talk) 22:18, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed the pic but don't be surprised if someone reverts back to the old picture. It was probably better as readers could clearly see the band. The current photo should be cropped to remove most of the audience and skylights or a more close-up shot could be uploaded. --NeilN talk to me 22:53, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for uploading that! I realize the pic isn't great, but I will upload a new show once I have one that is better. Anyway, at least it's up to date. Much appreciated. Daffodilcubed (talk) 03:27, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
