Thank you, and same to you. Sorry for the wait, but I'm gonna need just a little bit longer to review this as some of my time was obviously taken up by the holidays and have a few other things I have to do here on wiki. Hope you understand, and the review should be done before the New Years. NegativeMP1 03:59, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
Great to hear. TWOrantulaTM (enter the web) 23:58, 28 December 2023 (UTC)

Review

Okay, as weird as this sounds, I found no issues. Even things I typically point out in previous GA reviews like a lack of image alt text can't be said here, because there is alt text. Alongside this, this article does not meet any of the quickfail criteria. As bizarre as it may be to do this, I think this qualifies as a "quickpass", but this article also had a peer review from three people beforehand, but whatever. I'm passing this, good job. λ NegativeMP1 18:33, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

  • ... that while developing the sound effects for Letterpress, Loren Brichter spit in his microphone? Source: [22]: "[Federico Viticci] also noticed sounds play an important role in the game. [...] It's mostly [Brichter] spitting into a microphone."
    • Reviewed:
    • Comment: This is my second DYK nomination. Also, for some reason, this article was quickpassed for GA.

Improved to Good Article status by TrademarkedTWOrantula (talk). Self-nominated at 19:05, 31 December 2023 (UTC). Post-promotion hook changes for this nom will be logged at Template talk:Did you know nominations/Letterpress (video game); consider watching this nomination, if it is successful, until the hook appears on the Main Page.

  • Awesome job on the GA! The source is there, the hook is certainly interesting, and everything looks to be in place. I would simply add a word describing who Loren Brichter is for the reader (e.g. "...developer Loren Brichter..."). And since this is only your second DYK nomination, QPQ is not needed. Why? Copy editing notes

Hi there! I copy edited this article in response to a request of the Guild of Copy Editors. Tagging @TrademarkedTWOrantula, who made the request. Of course, all edits and comments just represent my view—feel free to disagree.

  • Brichter determined the game's name based on what the player did: pressing letters.[1]
  • Panzarino found a bug in which an error from Game Center would occur when a player finished their turn.[2]
    • is this WP:DUE? the error is described as "mildly irritating" and happening "now and then" and the author writes that Brichter was working to fix it... seems like small potatoes and I recommend cutting it
  • He incorporated a feature that gave players bonus points for tiles that have been surrounded.
    • missing a word. gave players bonus points for VERB tiles... (using, claiming, re-using?)
  • Wiskus's comments on rematches are now mentioned twice
  • General notes:
    • I see in a past FAC that you were told to avoid X said/Y said monotony. While avoiding monotony is important, also pay mind to MOS:SAID, which is important to maintaining an encyclopedic tone.
    • Are there any more recent sources? I re-downloaded Letterpress while performing this copy edit, and there is a bot-mode for single players which is unmentioned in this article. (my cursory search was unsuccessful)

Let me know if you have any questions.
