Letter of appointmentLetter of appointment (Mormonism) – "Letter of appointment" is a generic term with a wide variety of uses. In English Wikipedia, the phrase occurs 132 times, of which only 8 are the Mormon/LDS use. Any disambiguator would be acceptable, but by remaining at this title this article is a WP:SURPRISE for those looking for uses in political, judicial, diplomatic, religious, contractual and many other areas. For this reason the page move should not leave a redirect behind. This is not usual, but given the large number of alternative meanings I think we could WP:IAR here for a better result. @MaterialWorks: The consensus to close here was in response to my nomination statement the page move should not leave a redirect behind. Would you please fix. Thanks, Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 18:45, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Shhhnotsoloud: You should probably ask an admin to delete that redirect for you (maybe tag it under WP:G6?). – MaterialWorks 20:57, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MaterialWorks: I have CSD'd it in order to correct your error. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 08:35, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@MaterialWorks, Estar8806, and Shhhnotsoloud: I have deleted Letter of appointment with the edit summary
Redirect left behind in error. Please see Talk:Letter of appointment (Mormonism)#Requested move 21 August 2023. I'm fine with re-creating this as a disambiguation page - as you can see from my contributions, a "letter of appointment" would for me to possibly be a synonym of Letters patent. I do note that this is *one* letter, and a controversial one. Please do let me know if I have made a mistake here.
Hopefully this fixed things up. As always, please do let me know if I have made a mistake there. Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 11:28, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
