This article has been checked against the following criteria for B-class status:
This article should not be speedy deleted as having no substantive content, because... Col. Leroy is an unsupplied Link in the page for Thomas F. Dixon, Jr., and also in the page for the 49th North Carolina Infantry and other Historical pages for the Confederate Army in the era of the end of the War Between the States. I am not an expert in this subject other than having a book written by Thomas F. Dixon, Jr., who is my maternal grandfather's paternal uncle, which has a forward to his 1905 work entitled the Clansman, which depicts a historical period when Mr. Dixon lived, the late War Between the States and early Restoration, without which his book the Clansman makes little sense, especially when his mention of the KKK refers to a Clansman of Old Scotland, which was quickly disbanded, not the later bigoted and racist and unauthorized use of that same name in the mid to late 20th Century used to practice racial hatred against Southern Blacks, as Dixon himself regretted in his older years.
On searching with Google, Col. McAfee appeared as an unsupplied link in several Wikipedia articles and other sources. What I can add to this page is part of the forward from Dixon Jr.'s edition of this book, but Mr. Dixon had a number of children who would also have an interest in their heritage on their mother's side, the daughter of Col. McAfee.

I've salvaged the article into something that should survive deletion. It now has content and demonstrates notability. FindAGrave isn't the best source, but a colonel who served in the NC House of Reps is notable enough for Wikipedia. Chris857 (talk) 21:39, 22 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
