Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, seem to have done there research for Lennie Godber giving him a home town of Smethwick. The town's undertakers are run by the Godber family which is located near the towns councill house {Ucebaggie (talk) 19:45, 1 October 2008 (UTC)}.[reply]
