General elections

Brown lost the 2004 mayoral election. Why then add that "Despite his affiliation with the New Zealand Labour Party since age 17, Brown did not run for election in the 2005 General Election, and instead returned to working for Wynyard Wood"? He was not involved in national politics, and being a Labour party member does not automatically mean that he would stand in the 2005 general elections - 99.999% of Labour members did not.Royalcourtier (talk) 07:29, 12 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
