Copyright issue: large section copied verbatim from a book, needs rewriting
[edit]Hello,
I was trying to find sources to add references to this article, and came across the book "The World Encyclopedia of Serial Killers", which Google Books offers a preview of. It is evident from this preview that a significant part of this article was copied verbatim from the book, see this link for example: https://www.google.com/books/edition/The_World_Encyclopedia_of_Serial_Killers/JnQyEAAAQBAJ?hl=en&gbpv=1&pg=PT413&printsec=frontcover.
Most of the "Freedom and serial murders" section can be found in this book, with sentences copied without any changes. As explained in WP:COPYPASTE: "In most cases, you may not copy text from other sources into Wikipedia. Doing so is a copyright violation. Always write the articles in your own words and cite the sources of the article." and "Wikipedia articles must be written in the author's own words" (in bold on that page).
It seems to me that this section and maybe more of the article needs to be rewritten to remove the copyrighted material. Nffwp (talk) 15:28, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
