A google search for "Thai lemon basil" (which only shows up Ocimum × citriodorum as results) has 41,600 hits, whereas a google search for "Lao basil" shows 1,030 hits. It would seem that "Thai lemon basil" is a much more common name in English than "Lao basil" and therefore merits inclusion into the article more than "Lao basil". - Takeaway (talk) 15:45, 5 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
