Lemelson Foundation has the legal name Lemelson Medical Education and Research Foundation, as evidenced by the court documents in that name such as the 2004 CAFC decision in Symbol Technologies v Lemelson CAFC 04-451.

This week I edited the Initiatives section to include updated information based on revised pages on The Lemelson Foundation website and each initiatives' website. This includes: The Smithsonian Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation, The Lemelson-MIT Program, Oregon MESA, VentureWell, and Villgro.
I removed Gearbox from the Initatives section and moved it to the Past Projects section to reflect that it is no longer an active project for the foundation.

I updated on 4.29 and 4.30:
- In the intro, I added another line of description to reflect the Foundation's recent climate action work.
- In the Programs section, I added "and climate action" to the first sentence, to reflect the Foundation's work more accurately. The source is the same as the above - the Lemelson Foundation website.
- In the Initiatives section, I removed a broken link and replaced with correct link to Foundation website.

- Removed “over $185 million” and added “over $300 million.” in the Programs section

Revisions December 2015
[edit]I made several updates to this page on 12.21. I also added information so the page would more accurately represent the foundation's current work.
- Added About section with organization's mission and purpose.
- Edited Initiatives supported in the United States –> Current initiatives. Added Oregon MESA, changed NCIAA to VentureWell (this is their new name), added Villgro, added SELCO, Gearbox, and NESsT Peru. These represent initiatives both in the US and in developing countries.
- Changed the section Developing countries programs and projects –> Past projects. The information stayed the same, but the foundation's website includes these projects on their "history" page, indicating to me that these are outdated.
- I also added footnotes to document my sources and updated old links in these sections where possible.
- Changed external links embedded in the content into footnotes, per wiki best practices (mostly in Activities).
- I deleted the Promotional tag as I believe I resolved the promotional content by removing promotional language and removing external links.

- Updated Origins to reflect information currently available with appropriate references.
- Renamed the section heading Activities to Programs in order to distinguish it from the later section Initiatives.
- Updated Programs to reflect the foundation's current theory of change and removed information that was redundant with other sections.
- Added footnotes and links where possible.
