Mary Webb School, Pontesbury

[edit]

This page states 'In 1957 the local comprehensive school at Pontesbury was named the Mary Webb School in her honour'. This is erroneous - 1957 was the year it was founded, as Pontesbury Secondary Modern School. The change of name came during my own years as a pupil there (1970-1976) but I do not recall the exact year. Can someone help?
