References
[edit]Added a nice ref for the Gemina name.
The inline Steiner reference that appears in the Notes section has no associated ref tag within the text, unless I'm totally blind. Can anyone find it?
Aside from the Steiner note (which I can't fix or even remove, because I can't find the ref tag), the Notes section is now compliant with both the APA Style and MLA Style. Dppowell 19:15, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Had to go check on this, but it's Chicago-compliant, too, and that's the footnoting style cited by the Wikipedia style manual. Dppowell 19:26, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
I have corrected a big error in the history of the 13th legion presented on this page. It was not Domitian that transferred it to Dacia in 89, but Trajan in 106. In 89 Dacia was an independent kingdom. Conflict between Dacia and the Roman Empire started in 89 when king Decebalus came to power. From more information on Decebalus and the Dacian Wars, please see the respective articles. In addition, there was no mention of the involvement of the 13th legion in the Dacian Wars in witch it played a major role (it was the 13th Legion that built the bridge over the Danube which the roman troops used in the second war) DArhengel 10:48, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
Referencing
[edit]Steiner is used only for a note, so inlining it is allowed. MacBride is used twice, with two pages, and therefore is referenced offline. Finally, MoS deals with Notes and refwerences, not references and bibliography.--Panarjedde 19:48, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, but where is the Steiner reference? The ref tag is missing from the text. There's no way to see what's being sourced. Dppowell 20:13, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- ??? Click on the "^" at the left of the note. It is the name of the legion.--Panarjedde 20:16, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- What I mean is that there's no [1] there. Shouldn't there be? Dppowell 20:17, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- I see "Pia Fidelis, "Faithful and loyal"[1]". Is your page different?--Panarjedde 20:33, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ah! I was looking in the main body of the article, it didn't even occur to me to look in the infobox. Thanks! Dppowell 20:35, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Sestertius Philip 247-lv lxiii.jpg
[edit]Image:Sestertius Philip 247-lv lxiii.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
