I think this page could be edited to be less of a wall of text--2604:3D09:D08A:100:8CB8:B3F7:D127:A80A (talk) 03:47, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Title

[edit]

There is an overview article about corporal punishment, as well as several other articles, or redirects about corporal punishment in various countries such as Corporal punishment in Australia, through to Corporal punishment in the United States, as well as Corporal punishment in the home and titles like Corporal punishment of minors in the United States or School corporal punishment in the United States , or Judicial corporal punishment in Afghanistan. So a title starting with the words "Legality of ..." sounds like this Wikipedia article is going to offer legal advice, which Wikipedia does not do. This article needs to be renamed to have a title that is consistent with those of other articles and be rewritten to be encyclopedic, not legal weasel words. The current title means the article needs to address the legality of the whole range of corporal punishments, from the judicial to the domestic, for adults and children, in homes, schools, at work, in public and in prisons; not just parents punishing children. Either the content need to be expanded to fill the scope, or the article needs to be renamed to limit its scope. I am undecided about which option is the better course of action. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 05:14, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
