Shouldn't this be expanded on? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.226.24.105 (talk) 04:42, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Story section

[edit]

The article's been a stub for ages, so I thought I'd add a story summary. However, I often tend to rammble on a bit and/or miss out important plot points - so please feel more than free to add/modify to it. If no-one bothers, I'll add some more over the week's course, but we need more info on this article!! King Wagga 16:37, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much! I would have expanded it, but I haven't played it all. PS: Do we want to add the bit about how the Ancients committed suicide because they could no longer worship their god, the Wheel of Fate (or whatever it was)? ClockworkCompanionCube 15:19, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've only just completed Legacy of Kain: Defiance in the last 24 hours, and that's why I've been adding bit by bit. However, I'm very forgetful, and thus I've been using this document from GameFAQs as a guide; after all, it is pretty much of a script of the game, and thus I've found it very useful. As for the Ancients suicide, they did this in madness because they were separated from their god (actually The Elder God) and expelled from the Wheel of Fate (which required death, but they were immortal). Of course, this will be added. However, this article still needs a lot of work - but hopefully more people will join the effort. I tried to rally people through a LiveJournal community before, but it didn't work out. I could always try again, and on gaming forums too! This series deserves so much better. ClockworkCompanionCube 02:40, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wordplay

[edit]

I think it might be useful to redirect the acronym LOKD here as I'm sure people have used it and it makes finding it easier, unless anyone knows of any other uses for it. Most unfortunately LOK can't redirect to the main series since there's some Swedish band who took it so there's a disambig now at least. Similarly, including the LOK series title in acronym allows for the reservation of otherwise used ones. BOLOK, LOKSR, LOKSR2 and BO2 are the shortest appropriate ones that could be created for the preceding games if anyone agrees. To be uniform with the inclusion of LOK it may be appropriate to also do BO2LOK for the last, though I don't see anyone using it unless other uses for BO2 (is boron dioxide posible?) come into later use. I find it sort of confusing how LoK comes after the titles in the Blood Omens and before the titles in Defiance & the Soul Reavers.

I don't suppose anyone has encountered any portmanteaus for these names such as Blomen/Bloomen or Legain? If the games ever got popular in Japan, I wonder if due to the similar pronunciation of the letters R and L if for the Soul Reaver games you could see them slurred into Soureaver/Souleaver? The way it forms 'Sour' or 'Leaver' is kind of interesting. Tyciol (talk) 01:22, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
