Country of Origin

[edit]

Since it's made by the Coca Cola company, wouldn't the country of origin be the US?

70.121.58.6 05:28, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No. Leed was never sold in the US as far as I know - probably why it's so hard to find decent material about it on the web. Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd (formerly Oasis Industries) is the New Zealand/Australian distributor for Coca Cola products.

References

[edit]

I WOULD cite my references, but I don't have any. This page is an attempt to bring some actual Leed material to the world since at the moment there's next to nothing out there.

If anyone has any material then please let me know. Greaneyr (talk) 08:56, 26 November 2007 (UTC) (talkcontribs) 02:51, 23 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Sprite relation

[edit]

Could Leed have been a precursor to Sprite, or Sprite a US version? Do they taste similar? BlackSabbath1996 (talk) 21:42, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sprite not widely known in Australia

[edit]

This says that the name Leed was replaced with the more widely known name Sprite. This is not entirely true. The name Sprite was unknown in Australia and I'm guessing in the other Coca Cola Amatil nations. It wasn't until, I'm guessing, the international Coca Cola Corporation decided to consolidate the names and replace the Leed name with the name Sprite in places like Australia, that the Sprite name was ever known. Proof? I grew up in the 70s in Australia and Leed was the lemonade of choice. --MarkN0062 (talk) 12:41, 30 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Leed (drink)LeedWP:DIFFCAPS, target redirects to LEED, a disambiguation page, but only this article can be called "Leed". Red link Leed Publishing is only linked from two articles, is not called just "Leed", and often is capitalised as "LEED Publishing", e.g. as the Japanese article at jp:リイド社 does. It is unlikely that either of the other two DAB entries will be referred to as "Leed" instead of "LEED". The page was moved from "Leed" in 2008. 94.21.204.175 (talk) 16:00, 26 January 2019 (UTC) 94.21.204.175 (talk) 16:00, 26 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The other two "Leed"s, Rick Leed and Melveen Leed, are WP:PTMs added since I requested this move, but still this is the only topic that can be called simply "Leed". I think repurposing "LEED" needs a separate proposal (because of notifications etc). 94.21.238.64 (talk) 18:06, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
