[edit]This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
We are requesting a factual edit on the following Wikipedia page https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Lee_Feldman_(businessman)
The specific statement we are referring to is “On March 22, 2019, GVC confirmed that Feldman would leave the company on or before the company’s annual general meeting on June 5.[5] “ written by Gorge Howard.
This is factually incorrect, not only is there no mention of this in the referred to FT article - there is also no mention of an AGM at all in the article. GVC has never stated at any point that Mr Feldman would be leaving on a specified date. None of the referred press articles have a date confirmed by GVC on which Mr Feldman is meant to be leaving. This is all speculative and not confirmed by GVC, the only statement that GVC has confirmed is that he is leaving, and the company is in the early stages of finding an appropriate replacement. We request that this is edited or removed as soon as possible.
As per the FT article, we suggest an alternative could be “On March 22 2019, GVC confirmed that succession planning was underway and in its early stages”
Thank you.
We look forward to hearing from you shortly.

[edit]- The SkyNews source states "Sky News has learnt that Lee Feldman, who has chaired GVC Holdings - the owner of Ladbrokes - since 2008, is to leave the business at or before its annual general meeting next year", which implies — but does not state — the year 2020. The claim has been adjusted to reflect this exact phrase as a quote.
- The Stradbrooke source claims that date to be June 5, but does not give the year. A Year needed inline template was appended to the claim.
- Please provide a reference confirming the date of next year's annual general meeting (preferably from the company itself) so that the claim may be adjusted to the correct day and year.

- The company's financial calendar says that June 5, 2019 is the date of this year's annual general meeting. I think it's generally safe to say that a news source written in March 2019 that refers to "June 5" without further clarification means June 5, 2019, not June 5 of some other year. On the other hand, Reuters seems to believe that Sky News meant the 2020 AGM, but they too are just quoting Sky for the date. To make matters more interesting, the Financial Times says that shareholders want Feldman out "before GVC’s capital markets day in May" - that would presumably be May 2019, not May 2020.
