Location of LearAvia?
[edit]Bill Lear died in Reno, Nevada in 1978. Was LearAvia located there, too, perhaps at the Reno-Stead Airport a few miles north of Reno?—QuicksilverT @ 00:08, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
"However, unlike conventional V-tails, there was no pitch/yaw control mixing on the Lear Fan"
[edit]This is clumsily formulated "however, unlike X, Y" but more importantly the reason is not stated. I assume this is because the pilot has pure yaw authority via the vertical stabiliser, and then pitch control can be added via the slanted one whilst maintaining yaw via the vertical one. It is not that clear -- aerodynamically speaking they are mixed by definition! 2A01:CB0C:CD:D800:F1C0:275:738C:7509 (talk) 07:26, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- I don’t find the sentence clumsy or difficult to understand so I’m happy for it to remain as it is. The information in the paragraph is unsourced so extra information shouldn’t be added unless a reliable published source can be identified. It is possible that the designers never divulged the reason for not mixing pitch and yaw controls in the interests of commercial confidentiality. Dolphin (t) 12:11, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
