Lazy Dog as a term for a quick instruction

In Swedish, the term "lathund" is used for an easy to use-document which allows you to perform a routine (often administrative) task without thorough knowledge on the subject. Lathund literally translates to "lazy dog", and this term is also used in Swedish to English translations. Can someone more familiar of the English language tell me if "lazy dog" can have the Swedish meaning? The links from Lathund goes to Reference card, but that is not really the same thing, IMHO. I'm familiar with the term (as a native English speaker) but I'd never heard the term used except in documentation produced by https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Ericsson - probably first encountered it around 1997/98 185.58.166.46 (talk) 15:19, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
