I'm contesting the page move that was made a few weeks ago which changed the title of this article from "Lawn Tennis Association" to "LTA (organization)". I've changed the title back to the original stable version before the move. If you wish to request the move, please go through the RM process as it is potentially controversial (I may not be the only one who objects to it). WP:TITLEFORMAT asks us to avoid using ambiguous abbreviations/acronyms. The very fact that LTA has a disambiguation page shows that the acronym can be ambiguous! Just because the LTA have offically titled themselves "LTA" with no reference to their former title, the fact remains that the acronym LTA originated from "Lawn Tennis Association" which is the name that many people still use/recognise. WP:COMMONNAME indicates that the subject's "official" name should not necessarily be used as the article title, and it's generally preferable to use the name that is most commonly used. Also note: If the name were to be changed to the requested "LTA (organisation)" it should use the British English spelling of 'organisation' as LTA is a British institution. There should also be some reference to the fact that LTA stands for Lawn Tennis Association for those who might ask the question. If LTA is indeed identified as the common name and the page move were to go ahead, then the tennis assoc. would likely need to be singled out as the primary topic and the dab page altered to suit. Looks like it has been a year for the COI tag. I checked through the last 5 editors and did not trip over anyone seemingly associated with the organization; which is a tennis organization for a major country within the Tennis realm. If no objection is presented by the end of June, 2020, I will remove the tag.Mjquinn_id (talk) 04:39, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
