super lost, I'm sorry

[edit]

Hello there!

This biography page is of a friend of mine and I want to clean it up so there is no more notice at the top of the page.

I've scoured Wikipedia and support pages for hours now, and I still feel extremely stuck and not sure what to doo. It says the page reads like a news article, to use independent sources, etc. but it doesn't say which lines read like a news article, which articles aren't independent, etc. and it's driving me insane.

I'm sorry, this is my first Wikipedia article and I just want to help him out. He doesn't know I'm trying to correct it, so any and all help is appreciated. I feel super dumb even asking these questions, so if there is a beginner's "how to" area that would be greatly appreciated.

Another article pointed me to do this so I'm sorry if this is not the right thing to do. Thank you in advance! Parmajean (talk) 00:51, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This does not require the use of the admin tools, so any editor may help you with this. I've converted your help request to a general request. I would say that if this person is your friend, you should review the conflict of interest policy. 331dot (talk) 08:41, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Parmajean: There are three WikiProjects mentioned at the top of this talkpage. WikiProjects are comprised of a group of volunteer editors that share a common interest. Some WikiProjects are highly-active; some are sparsely populated. You could visit each of them and see whether they provide a place for collaborating editors to discuss improvements this article. Posting on those WikiProject pages could increase the likelihood that volunteers will visit the article.
If you want to request specific edits to the article, you can follow this link to do that. Once there, read the intro page, and then follow the instructions in the Wizard. —Scottyoak2 (talk) 14:12, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
