Primitives as language building blocks
[edit]The current content is too much centered around "machine element" primitives. The article should grow to reflect concerns of how the original choice of primitives affect the design of a programming language. I've found this http://portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=641663.641665 reference that seems relevant, but can't evaluate it since I don't have access to ACM. I also remember reading about primitives in hardware-software codesign. Does anybody have good references on the topic of PL design? Diego (talk) 16:51, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
