Acquired by the king of Spain?

[edit]

I have some doubts about the acquisition by the king of Spain, although I cannot prove anything. The source says that this painting, along with others, was for the palace of La Granja. But the Prado museum still owns today a copy of this painting (see here) which was also acquired by Philip V for the palace of La Granja. Later, the original painting was acquired by Denis Diderot in Paris and sent to Russia (see here). So did the king of Spain buy both the original and the copy at the same time, only to sell the original later? It's possible, but hard to believe. Seudo (talk) 19:31, 20 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
