"Isley" should be "Isely" -- any suggestions?

[edit]

In poking around to learn more about places where my dad was stationed during World War II, I ran across references to "Isley" or "Isely" Field, a former Japanese air field which was then taken over by the US, renamed, and has now been subsumed by Saipan International Airport.

It turns out it was very definitely Isely Field. I've found photographs of signage there, and some bits of history of its namesake, Commander Robert Isely.

The problem, of course, is that apparently the National Park Service has gone with the incorrect "Isley," at least on their web site.

So, I'm wondering if anyone reading this has any suggestions on how to fix the NPS? Apparently it's not "the government entity that anyone can edit" :-). I've sent a message to their web site's email address, NHL_info@nps.gov, but I'm not optimistic.--NapoliRoma (talk) 20:13, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the spelling of the field name and will be bold. However, it was named after Robert Isley. It's the only instance I know of in which the dedication of a field misspelled the honoree's name. --Lineagegeek (talk) 22:05, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's always hard to pin down the definitive spelling of surnames, but from what I've found, his last name was Isely, not Isley. See [1], for example.--NapoliRoma (talk) 19:48, 7 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
