Pronunciation

[edit]

Could someone please explain how 'Lamy' could rhyme with 'Tommy'? I'm not familiar with the pronunciation of the pen's name, but it seems incredible that the vowel 'a' could rhyme with the vowel 'o'. Vneiomazza 20:45, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The company is German. Dysprosia 08:18, 19 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The company is German, but it's pronounced just like the spelling hint says. Lamy and Tommy don't rhyme; they're not even close. 82.32.65.149 12:02, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The article now uses the correct IPA pronunciation explanation and issues resorting to rhyming are thus resolved. Dysprosia 12:15, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have just added archive links to one external link on Lamy. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

LAMY or Lamy?

[edit]

Can someone help with this distinction? The company uses LAMY in all caps but the Wikipedia manual of style for Trademarks says:

Follow standard English text formatting and capitalization practices, even if the trademark owner considers nonstandard formatting "official", as long as this is a style already in widespread use[1]

I think "Lamy" is correct.

Digital Styluses (stylii?)

[edit]

Lamy produces digital styluses, for drawing on touchscreens that explicitly support touchscreens. For instance: https://www.lamy.com/en/emr/ This should be listed in the article.

Tone of article

[edit]

This article reads like a PR sheet from the company itself. Which is not surprising since most of the sources are directly to the companies website. The article needs to be changed to an encyclopediac style. Ashmoo (talk) 14:04, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
