This page should not be speedy deleted because...
[edit]This page should not be speedily deleted because... Lahur Talabany is a key figure in the fight against ISIL. He is a co founder of the Counter Terrorism Group in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Furthermore he is a notable politician in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. He is widely known in intelligence and military circles as well and works closely with the British and American services in the fight against terrorism. I note that there is no existing page for Lahur Talabany and as such i have taken it upon myself to create this page for him. --Lawen Azad (talk) 10:24, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
Move to Lahur Talabani?
[edit]In the very most of the articles I read now it was only mentioned Lahur Talabani, not Lahur Talabany. He is also a relative of several people who's surname is Talabani. Paradise Chronicle (talk) 07:00, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
I found now also some news about Talabany. So for me it's ok for now.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 11:34, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
Severe neutrality issues
[edit]This issue has SEVERE nPov issues to the point where practically the whole article, as is the case in many Iraqi Kurdish politician's wiki pages, reads more like a tribute than a serious description or analysis of his life and career. It is not even the case that some minor edits can be done, the whole thing needs to be written from scratch, basically.
I do applaud the creation of this page by whoever did it, as Lahur is important in Iraqi Kurdish politics, but it's written as if Lahur himself typed it up!
Furthermore, I agree with the other section that states it should be Talabani rather than Talabany. While both may be technically correct transliterations from Sorani, Talibani is common use in English-language sources, and Wikipedia should be consistent in this to avoid confusion. As well as this, all other Talabani-related wikipedia pages spell it with an I, not a Y.
I hope these issues are eventually fixed by whoever has the knowhow and time to do it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.205.21.39 (talk) 12:29, 5 November 2021 (UTC)
