Improve the surf sport paragraph

[edit]

The surf paragraph is very limiting and mentions strong currents, although from experience Lahinch is a very safe beach to learn to surf. This needs to be improved and I would welcome any suggestions. --Lukemcurley (talk) 01:56, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

As improvement, I have reverted your promo-story. Wikipedia is neutral at all times. The Banner talk 03:47, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am adding the photos section again, currently the photos provided are poor and this adds additional information about Lahinch and all photos are unbiased. I am going to rewrite the surfing article, currently it contains information on weever fish with no citation and a line that the currents are dangerous but no citation or reference. I would go as far and say this is a negative article about surfing at Lahinch. The piece is also poorly written, I think it is factual that it is a surf school beach but I will try to be more neutral with the writing and cite where needed --Lukemcurley (talk) 01:31, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures are not for decoration, so I have removed the four irrelevant pictures. The Banner talk 01:57, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for edit and not just reverting. Photos are useful, there was a photo of the tide out - this supports the article that it is a sandy beach, there was a photo that supported the article on sporting activities on the beach. There is benefit in having photos within Wikipedia articles, especially if they support the text in the article.--Lukemcurley (talk) 02:10, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It would also be useful to see a picture of the town itself or a local landmark besides the beach. -- HighKing++ 12:04, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, a photo of the main street in the town would be a useful addition and maybe a photo of the Lifeguard Station as it was nominated for the LAMA Awards in 2011 (although didn't win).--Lukemcurley (talk) 13:15, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
