[edit]Isn't this a bit too detailed for an area which is essentially just a few streets? 86.10.81.54 (talk) 09:49, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
Don't know, but the area is larger than a lot of villages, and does seem to have an identity separate from that of the rest of West Bridgford. Phil the (talk) 13:09, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
--- RE: Sons & Lovers reference. The full text is available here: http://www.readprint.com/chapter-6878/D-H--Lawrence "The Trent ran dark and full under the bridge. Away towards Colwick all was black night. He lived down Holme Road, on the naked edge of the town, facing across the river meadows towards Sneinton Hermitage and the steep scrap of Colwick Wood. The floods were out. The silent water and the darkness spread away on their left. "
The reference to Holme Road appears to be specific, not just from the description of the area. Phil the (talk) 13:09, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Name origins
[edit]Does anyone know why the area is called Lady Bay? --Kay Dekker (talk) 20:19, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
- That's what I've been wondering. In particular, does the name refer to a lady (as in a noblewoman) named Bay, or a bay named Lady? Or something else entirely? — Smjg (talk) 10:54, 11 September 2023 (UTC)
Worshipping Communities in Lady Bay
[edit]Reading this article the section about the Anglican Church looks like an attempt to gain google juice rather than a legitimate attempt to describe the worshipping communities in Lady Bay. Am I alone in thinking this or does it need editing?
