Help please

What is a labor battalion? What was its functions.. Is it same as other labour battalions during WWI? I saw an edit which deleted the information that explains the concept! Is it possible could someone answer why this info is removed? Also if labor battalions are not part of Armenian genocide why it is in the template? The article says "some as old as sixty"

There are Armenians in the ottoman army at the age of "sixty???" The life expectancy of Anatolian people was 42 in 1937 (the first census was 27 then 37). God knows what was in 1915. Not sixty, not even 42. I do not know where the story is originated but the citation seems to be not reliable. Is there a better source? --OttomanReference 05:31, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
