[edit]Should we merge this with La Sainte Union Catholic School? They seem to be about the same place. Felixwells 19:28, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- The material in the second section, about the school in London, should certainly be merged into the La Sainte Union Catholic Secondary School article.
- The first part, though, should remain here (retitled to "La Sainte Union College of Higher Education") since although both are/were run by the Sisters of La Sainte Union, they are/were separate institutions.
- Incidentally, we then need an article on the Sisters themselves, since they seem to lack one at present both here and in the French-language Wikipedia. -- Picapica 11:26, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Shouldn't we just merge them all into the same article? They seem to be about roughly the same thing. Felixwells 23:58, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- I disagree. There are three different topics here:
- An order of nuns, the Sisters of La Sainte-Union des Sacrés-Coeurs, with schools and colleges in several countries around the world
- A former teacher-training college in Southampton
- A girls' secondary school in London
- These topics are linked, of course, in that the Sisters of topic 1. ran/run the establishments in 2. and 3. and the three articles should show these links in the usual Wikipedia way. But bundling together matter which is only "roughly about the same thing" detracts from reader-friendliness in my view. Wikipedia is not short of paper! And it is far easier to grow three "stubs" than to try to unpack an over-stuffed article later. -- Picapica 11:24, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
When you put it that way it seems to be the most efficent. But we need to do something about the two articles. There's more information on the school in this article than the one about the school. Felixwells 15:03, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. As I already said, the info in this article about the school needs to be moved from here and merged into the school article (the article here can then be renamed). I'll go ahead and make a start on that tonight (probably), then start a new article on the Sisters themselves as soon as I've got a few more sources of information together (I only have a few scattered references at present). Thanks for your comments -- much appreciated! --Picapica 17:22, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
- First two steps now taken. A new article on the Sisters themselves will be the next. --Picapica 20:52, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
I made La Sainte Union a disambiguation page for clarity. I hope nobody minds. --Felixwells 22:09, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
