[edit]

I'm slightly concerned by two of the sources used here; veniceoperatickets.com, and ircam.fr. The former is used heavily; the latter is used for the DYK hook. A priori they don't strike me as reliable, but I don't know opera; @Gerda Arendt:, could you help me understand the use of these? Vanamonde (Talk) 20:47, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The first is in English, while most about Bussotti is in Italian or French which I don't read. The second is IRCAM, - you can't get more scientific in contemporary music. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:53, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clarifying. The second is fine. The first, I think we need further justification for; a ticketing site would not normally be reliable. Do we know who (person or group) is writing the content? Vanamonde (Talk) 20:57, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
(ec, may answer your question)
Other sources for the same facts:
I just found a book in English that I'll use, also for the hook fact. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:05, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
this looks reasonable to me (I don't speak French though). With the other websites, I'm in much the same place as with the original source. A website isn't unherently reliable or unreliable; who is publishing these? We don't need scholarly sources for non-controversial info, but the use of a website that has no authority at all is a problem for verifiability as well as due weight. Quible with DYK hook

[edit]

that the title of La Passion selon Sade, an opera by Sylvano Bussotti (pictured with star Cathy Berberian), caused a scandal at its premiere and had to be changed for the next performance?

Nice to see this on the main page! According to IRCAM though, the title was given as selon Sade at Palermo, and La Passion selon x in Paris. The other reference, Fearn, Raymond (2014) says instead that the Italian poster had an asterisk exclamation point in place of the word "Passion". Sparafucil (talk) 01:04, 24 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
