Article name is wrong
[edit]This article should be called La Fortuna, Costa Rica, somebody mistakenly used the name of the canton the city belongs to (see San Carlos (canton)), but 100% of the content refers to La Fortuna. In order to preserve the edit history I already requested an admin (here) to rename or redirect the article to the real name of the town.--Mariordo (talk) 00:01, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
The article has been renamed, but I doubt the original title was a mistake. Costa Ricans often use the canton name rather than the town name. If you ask a Tico how to get to La Fortuna, he'll often answer, "Where? Oh! You mean San Carlos!" Jacó becomes Garabito, etc. Since there is usually only one significant town in a canton, this has become common practice. Notable exceptions are the relatively large cities of San José and Alajuela, which definitely refer to those cities. I agree with leaving the title as La Fortuna, as that is how most visitors would refer to the town. This would probably only be confusing to native Costa Ricans and perhaps long-time residents.Wingovercr (talk) 20:15, 7 March 2017 (UTC)
