It would appear that the major sources for her involvement are her own testimony. All other sources appear to cite her book. She could not create an organization that had existed two years before she became involved, nor could she form an international organization when it was already registered as one under the Genevas Convention. She probably was largely involved in the Laredo brigade, but her involvement was clearly not as the original founder, nor part of the original brigades which had been operating for more than 2 years when she started her operation in 1913.
