¿Entre comillas?
[edit]Why is it "La Caixa" & not just La Caixa? Is it because it's the shortened form of the bank's name? If so, where did they get this styling from? Banks like WaMu use shortened forms w/o reverting to quotation marks. caz | speak 21:17, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, It is an styling form... in every communication they always sign as "La Caixa" . The complete name in the past was "Caixa d'estalvis i pensions de Barcelona" but now in all registers they are called as "La Caixa" and also their web page http : // www . lacaixa.com.
- Anyway we should use the sort of typography a normal newspaper would use, not fall into the company's gimmicky. What would La Vanguardia or Expansion do? Dexxterious (talk) 12:58, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi - I've been checking it around all the major Catalan and Spanish newspaper. None uses the quotation marks. I think we should therefore get rid of them.
I'll leave this point open for seven days. If nobody expresses any exception on the contrary in the meantime, I will proceed with the chances.

Ridiculous
[edit]"Catalonia´s leading savings bank" is ridiculous because Catalonia only has 7 million people...but being Spain´s leading savings bank, as it is, would be more interesting as Spain has 46 million people.
Reducing the importance of "La Caixa" to just Catalonia, as a regional bank, is RIDICULOUS because "La Caixa" is the most important savings bank in Spain and one of the most importants in the World.--88.18.148.222 (talk) 03:42, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
"Owned and created"
[edit]"Owned and created by the Catalonian government (Generalitat de Catalunya)" I think this is a gross mistake.
La Caixa direct predecessor was created way before the Generalitat being reinstated in 1931 and, again, in 1977.
Will look into it and revert.

Size figures
[edit]The article includes the following size figures: "The La Caixa Group manages a total bank turnover of over 411,522 million Euros (September 2008), with total customer resources in excess of 238,404 million Euros." Turnover is not a meaningful figure commonly used to describe the size of a bank; for that purpose, figures such as total assets are normally used (I suppose that this is what the 411 billion euros, in fact, are; a turnover in the accounting sense of 411 billion euros would be sensationally big, whereas total assets of 411 billion are plausible). The source which is linked to as a cite doesn't give that figure anyway. I'll delete that part. SchnitteUK (talk) 10:02, 15 July 2015 (UTC)
