The hi-resolution graphics daughter board also contained an IEEE-488 Instrumentation interface. This was included in order to be eligible for DTI development funding. The first RM Chain network ever shown actually used these IEEE488 ports to communicate with the server. This was before the Z-Net interface and drivers were finished.

Was it widely known as the LINK 480Z? My memory might be faulty, but I remember magazines of the time referring to it at the RML 480Z. --scruss (talk) 11:57, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
