Talk:L'Esprit public
Appearance
Notability
[edit]I believe this subject no longer needs a notability tag because it was seen as the "unofficial spokesman" or "legal front" of the Organisation armée secrète, the most prolific French terrorist group in the 1960s. Although this was buried deep in the text in the first draft this has now been repeated in the lead and there are three references in different parts of the text giving variations of this assertion.
There are secondary reasons why this article would probably be notable without the OAS link:
- This was a magazine that kept publishing through most of the 1960s, not just a few months
- It clearly had a national reach as the number of groups and activity in southern French cities showed
- Having a French Wikipedia article without a notability tag is not a guarantee of notability, but it's a very strong indication of it - and the case should be made for the notability tag
- Most of the authors listed here were blue linked in English Wikipedia when the article was created
For this reason I'm going to take off the Notability tag. JASpencer (talk) 12:16, 9 January 2025 (UTC)
