Notability
[edit]I am responding to the issue that Kyle Kuric does not meet the criteria for a wiki page. I created the page because of finding similar pages for other Louisville basketball players that have not achieved what he has. Peyton Siva and Preston Knowles both have pages. It seems Kuric has achieved as much (or more) than they have Hoopsnut (talk) 03:27, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- This is the talk page for discussion of Kyle Kuric, not other people. Can you explain why this person is notable in the context of WP:NBASKETBALL and WP:GNG? VQuakr (talk) 04:14, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
He is well known is Louisville (and Syracuse) as the reserve player that came off the bench and scored 22 points in the second half to in the last game Louisville played in Freedom Hall as their home gym. He was #1 trending topic on twitter that day. Many articles were written by well known sports journalist (Forde, Decourcy, etc). He scored the winning goal for a Louisville comback of 18 points in 5 minutes. He had the third highest 3 pt percentage in Big East play last year. Kuric was also the inaugral winner of the Papa Johns Dunk of the Year contest where fans voted him the winner - he got 45% of the vote on facebook. The video of his dunk is all over facebook. I also found several places to link he page to in existing articles on wikipedia. Hoopsnut (talk) 13:50, 31 August 2011 (UTC) I have added several sources to the article that expands Kuric being notable. Hoopsnut (talk) 13:57, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for providing your reasons for removing the PROD, I appreciate it. I think it is likely but not certain that the sources in the article now would be enough to result in a keep result from an AfD, though there are still some tone issues that could be improved to make the article more encyclopedic. Regards! VQuakr (talk) 19:58, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
