Wiki-plagiarism
[edit]Does it matter that this article was lifted word for word from Mail (armour)#Mail armour (kusari) in Japan? Boneyard90 (talk) 21:34, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
- There is no copyright on Wikipedia articles, the kusari article is an expanded version with room for more information and images as it becomes available, I do not see any reason why the Japanese mail section of the mail article should contain different information than the main article.Samuraiantiqueworld (talk) 01:49, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I should have put "plagiarism" in quotes; it was meant to be tongue in cheek, not a serious accusation. I'm not saying that the section in the Mail (armour) article should have different information, it should have a summary of information. What's the purpose of reading that section, then I go over to the "main article", only to find the same information, word for word? This Kusari article was not expanded, and in the present state, it defeats the purpose of a "main article". The section in the mail article should have been cut down to one or two paragraphs when that information was moved to its own page. The lead section of the branch article usually serves well as summary in the overview article (if "branch" = kusari, and "overview" = mail). Boneyard90 (talk) 12:02, 12 April 2012 (UTC)

[edit]The rare color photograph from the 1800s is a real find. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.117.218.190 (talk) 18:44, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
Should be moved to Kusari gusoku
[edit]The Japanese term kusari just means "chain", same as the chain in a swingset or a fence. There's nothing about the word kusari that specifically means "armor" -- that's what the gusoku part means.
As such, I think this page should be moved, presumably to Kusari gusoku (Japanese mail armour). ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 19:53, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
