Regarding the company inception date: sources differ -- the Portas article says Geiger came to country in 1963, the Chesters article says the first store was opened 1965, company website says he arrived 1963 and opened the first store in the same year. -- The Anome (talk) 11:20, 31 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
“Kindness is a core part of the Kurt Geiger brand. Kindness-driven initiatives by Kurt Geiger include supporting footwear specialist college, Cordwainers, in 2013, Save The Children during Christmas 2017, and donating approximately £1 million of support to the NHS throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.”
“In September 2022, Kurt Geiger launched the Kindness Foundation, a new charity dedicated to giving young people the resources needed to enter creative industries. The charity’s primary aim is to make creative roles more accessible for young individuals, particularly those from marginalised communities who are often prevented from considering a career in their field of passion due to existing systems of discrimination.”
“The Kindness Foundation aims to raise £1 million annually to be re-deployed into charity programmes to support young individuals. The foundation is funded through the purchases made by Kurt Geiger customers: for every eligible online and in-store purchase, Kurt Geiger will donate at least £1 to the Kindness Foundation.”
